It was half hour pass twelve on a Saturday morning when I was still up drawing work related business process flows. Nothing commendable about working at that hour but necessary as I needed time to digest the satisfying late dinner that I had from one of my favorite restaurants. One may say that there are other fun activities that I could have done for the aforementioned purpose. However, I could not feel free having fun when work was hanging over my head. To entertain myself while I complete the mundane assignment, I listened to a collection of songs that I had accumulated on iTunes.
Close to completing my work, I decided to take a short break and investigate songs that are listed on the iTunes single chart. Perusing down the chart, one title caught my eye. It was ‘Sexy and I Know It’. I was very surprised that this song piqued my curiosity simply because whenever this single came on the radio (since late 2010), I would switch to the classical or jazz station. The mere thought of knowing that this single was released by the same group that created ‘Party Rock Anthem’, turned me off. I have never liked ‘Party Rock Anthem’. This song was made worst by a Kia advert that decided to use *hamsters dancing in the background to promote the 2012 Kia Soul. The ad was very disturbing. Also, what does ‘Everyday I’m shufflin’ even mean???!!!

*Mel, you should show this ad to your hammies. Maybe they'll learn something....
Nonetheless, I went on YouTube to check out ‘Sexy and I Know It’. When five dudes donned in animal print bicycle pants came on, I knew it was bad news. Despite my reservations, I continued watching. And lo and behold!, what came on the 58th second of the video was a dude wearing nothing but animal print Speedo prancing around. One would think that I would stop the video especially since I covered my eyes with both hands. No, I continued. Peeling my hands of my eyes and still smiling, I continued watching. On the 2nd minute and 13th second mark, I burst out laughing.
By then I have stopped watching but allowed the video to complete in the background nonetheless. I was cracking up none stop. Why would anyone make this? The consolation from watching the video and listening to the song? A good laugh and a memory of a better single. Ladies and gentlemen from my era, allow me to jog your memory with Right Said Fred’s, ‘I’m Too Sexy’.
A song poking fun at the fashion industry; now this is a classic.
I’m too sexy for my work, too sexy for my work, too sexxxyyyyy……….
